What is the evidence in Sharia that the minimum age of puberty for a male is 12 lunar years?

There is no evidence that specifies a minimum age for puberty. Jurists have differed on this matter:

- Maliki and Shafi'i schools: Nine full lunar years, and some say half of the ninth year.

- Hanafi school: Twelve years for a boy and nine lunar years for a girl.

- Hanbali school: Ten years for a boy and nine years for a girl.
