Why did the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, not forbid men from excessive cursing, insulting religion, oppressing and humiliating women, and beating them, and why did he not clarify the punishment for that to them, knowing that women are the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire due to their excessive cursing and ingratitude toward their husbands?

The reason women constitute the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire is their frequent cursing and their ingratitude towards their spouses. This does not mean that men do not utter such words, but it is more prevalent among women. Ibn Hajar used this Hadith as evidence for the prohibition of excessive use of foul language, such as cursing and reviling, while Al-Nawawi used it to argue that cursing and reviling are major sins.

Cursing is forbidden for everyone if the cursed person is specifically identified. However, it is permissible to curse a general category, such as cursing disbelievers, oppressors, and those who died upon disbelief. Every Muslim should treat their Muslim brethren with kindness. Allah has forbidden injustice and belittling Muslims. Spouses should resolve their problems through dialogue and frankness, and by giving everyone their due rights.
