If women are deficient in intellect and religion, are the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire, and deny good done to them by their husbands, and only a few of them have reached perfection, then why are they held accountable for this nature they were created with, and how can it be controlled?

If the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed that women are deficient in intellect and religion and are the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire, then acts of worship have been prescribed for them through which they can attain the Lord's pleasure. Women are the counterparts of men, and whoever believes and performs righteous deeds and overcomes her desires will achieve eternal happiness. The reason for their being the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire is their frequent cursing and their ingratitude towards their husbands. She who fears her Lord, guards her tongue, and respects her husband's rights will not be among those threatened. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, promised women Paradise if they "pray their five [daily prayers], fast their month [Ramadan], guard their private parts, and obey their husbands." This clarification is not a disparagement of women, but rather an encouragement for them to beware and guard against God's wrath. Overcoming bad habits is achieved by striving against one's self, and a Muslim who strives against his self and seeks his Lord's help will succeed. Women are held accountable for these habits because God has granted them will, intention, and ability, and has guided them to the path of good and evil, and has established proofs against them. Every Muslim must repent to God and preserve His pleasure, and seek His help in adhering to the Divine Law.
