How should a suitor act if asked about his supererogatory acts of worship, when he does not wish to disclose them for fear of showing off, nor does he wish to lie?

There is no objection to the suitor informing his fiancée's family about his acts of worship and supererogatory devotions if he is asked about them, provided that his intention is not to seek people's praise, and that there is a legitimate reason for it, such as achieving a desirable marriage, as Yusuf (Joseph) did, peace be upon him, and as scholars have mentioned. It is more prudent for the suitor not to mention this himself, but rather to refer to someone who knows his situation, or to omit it unless it is absolutely necessary.
