What should one do if they made a mistake in a story of a prophet, such as Zechariah (peace be upon him), during their childhood, and they do not know when, where, or to whom they spoke the error in order to correct it, while being careful not to add anything that is not from the religion?

Scholars have differed on whether Zechariah died naturally or was killed, and regarding the manner of his killing. Ibn Kathir mentioned that the first corruption of the Children of Israel was by killing Zechariah, and the second by killing John, though there is no definitive text about their killings. The Qur’an repeatedly mentions the Children of Israel’s unjustified killing of prophets. Several narrations from the Companions and the Successors have been reported regarding their killings. Ibn Hazm and Ibn Ishaq mentioned that the Children of Israel killed Zechariah after he fled from them and entered a tree, whereupon they sawed the tree with him inside it.
