The answer

The wife who wronged herself and betrayed her husband must offer sincere repentance to Allah. Part of perfect repentance is to seek forgiveness from the husband. However, if doing so would lead to harm, it is permissible to suffice with supplicating for him and seeking forgiveness. Allah accepts the repentance of the sincere, and His forgiveness is immense, encompassing all sins. Allah Almighty says: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"

If the oppressor does not repent before death and is not forgiven by the oppressed, then retribution on the Day of Judgment will be in terms of good deeds and evil deeds. Whoever has wronged his brother should seek his forgiveness in this world. The bankrupt person on the Day of Judgment is he who comes with prayers, fasting, and zakat, but has reviled, slandered, consumed the wealth of this one, and shed the blood of that one. So, his good deeds are taken and given to the oppressed. If his good deeds are exhausted, then some of their sins are taken and cast upon him, and then he is cast into the Fire.

If the oppressor repents and Allah accepts his repentance, then Allah will satisfy the wronged party however He wills. The rights of human beings are not waived by repentance but by satisfying them. However, if Allah Almighty accepts the repentance of His servant, He will satisfy his opponent or guarantee his satisfaction.
