Must a parent be obeyed regarding refraining from playing and speaking English inside the the house?

Obeying one's parents in what is good and being dutiful to them is among the best acts of obedience. Children must take full care in mastering the Arabic language, as it is the language of the Qur’an, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people of knowledge. Parents should guide their children to learn and master Arabic. There is no harm in learning other languages when needed. However, habitually speaking a language other than Arabic without need is disliked (makrooh), because it is the jargon of non-Arabs and involves imitating them. Therefore, the conclusion is that obeying one's parent in his prohibition from speaking a foreign language inside the home is obligatory, and it is not permissible to confront him with what he dislikes or insist on doing something that angers him without a clear legitimate benefit.
