Is it forbidden to use modern items — such as luxury sunglasses — that are used for arrogance and boasting, by analogy with the prohibition of Isbal, even if the intention is not arrogance?

Arrogance (Kibr) is forbidden. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, defined it as "rejecting the truth and despising people." Wearing luxurious clothes and beautiful, expensive glasses is permissible as long as it does not involve extravagance, for Allah Almighty says: "Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good things, pure and lawful, from the provision?'" [Al-A'raf: 32]. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about a man who likes his clothes to be fine and his sandals to be fine, and he replied: "Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty." Therefore, expensive items are permissible as long as they are not intended for arrogance. Arrogance is forbidden even with inexpensive items. These mentioned matters are not to be compared to letting one's garment hang below the ankles (isbal), which has been explicitly prohibited, both generally and conditionally.
