Is it permissible to give zakat to a poor husband who owns nothing but his daily sustenance?

It is permissible for a wife to give her Zakat al-mal (obligatory charity on wealth) to her husband if his income is insufficient for his needs and the needs of those whose maintenance is obligatory upon him. This act carries a greater reward. It is important to note the impermissibility of depositing money in riba-based (interest-bearing) banks and the obligation to dispose of their interest and not to pay Zakat from it.
