What is the ruling on saying: "Do not forget Allah, or He will forget you"?

Forgetfulness has two meanings: "being oblivious to something," which is a deficiency that cannot be attributed to Allah, and "abandonment," which is what Allah attributed to Himself in the Qur'an. Forgetfulness in the sense of abandonment is a recompense for hypocrites and disbelievers for their abandonment of Allah's law. So Allah abandons them in the darkness of disbelief and ignorance, and He neglects them in torment on the Day of Resurrection. Thus, whoever forgets Allah in this world, meaning abandons His command, Allah forgets him, meaning He abandons him to torment on the Day of Resurrection. And if his forgetfulness was disbelief, then the abandonment will be eternal.
