Does Satan control dreams, and is what a person sees in a dream that is interpreted as death true?

Satan influences disturbing dreams, and therefore, whoever sees them should seek refuge from Satan and not tell anyone about them. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "A good vision is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan. So if one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit to his left and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, for it will not harm him." A disliked dream might be from self-talk or a fright from Satan. If one sincerely seeks refuge from it, Allah will remove any harm that befell him. Dream interpretation should not rely on books but should be sought from those known for their interpretative knowledge.
