The basis for a couple's choice of each other is religion. "If someone comes to you whose religion and character you approve of, then marry him. Otherwise, there will be tribulation on earth and great corruption." A woman is married for four reasons: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty, and her religion. So, choose the one who is religious. If one party is not pleased with something in a religious person, there is no harm in seeking another religious person who is free from what is displeasing.
