Are the husband and wife considered negligent and sinful for the husband's failure to visit his ill mother before her death, out of fear that his car would be stolen again?

There is no blame or sin upon the husband or the wife for her instructing him, as there was no negligence or shortcoming on his part. He is excused for his intention to visit and his inability to do so, for in Islamic law, obligation is only within one's capacity.
