Is it permissible to break one's fast while making up for Ramadān (qaḍāʾ) due to exams, with the intention of making up for that day after Ramaḍān?

If a Muslim begins an obligatory fast, such as making up for Ramadan, he is not permitted to break it and must complete it. Studying is not considered an excuse to break an obligatory fast or to postpone it. And whoever delays making up the days without a legitimate excuse has sinned and must make up the fast after Ramadan, in addition to feeding a poor person for each day he delayed, unless he was ignorant of the prohibition of delaying the make-up fast, in which case the expiation is not obligatory upon him.
