There is no objection to a child seeking the pleasure of their parents and their prayers for them; this is, in fact, preferable. The supplication of parents is answered, as affirmed by the : "There are three supplications that are answered without a doubt: the supplication of the parent, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of the oppressed." It is obligatory for a child to honor their parents, treat them with kindness, and strive to please them, for "the pleasure of Allah is from the pleasure of the parent, and the wrath of Allah is from the wrath of the parent."
