What is the ruling on contemplating suicide and despairing of life due to dire circumstances, unanswered prayers, and a feeling of rejection from those around one?

Suicide does not relieve distress; rather, it leads to immense misery and torment in Hell, as stated in the noble Prophetic hadith. The better alternative is to be patient with Allah’s painful decrees, for in it there is a promise of good tidings, immense reward without reckoning, and the expiation of sins. Remember that this world is a short test, and whatever befalls a believer is by Allah’s permission. Whoever believes in this and perseveres, Allah guides his heart and compensates him with good. Allah praised His servant Ayyub for his patience. You should also have a good opinion of Allah, for perhaps He deprived you of this world to protect you from it.
