Are the attributes of Allah, the Most Mighty and Exalted, substances or accidents?

No Muslim is permitted to say that the attributes of Allah are self-subsisting substances (جواهر قائمة بذاتها), for this is the saying of the Christians, and Allah is exalted above what they say. Some who associate themselves with Islam have gone to the extent of denying the attributes, claiming that affirming them necessitates validating the Christian saying, but this is false. Sheikh Al-Islam clarified that the Christians made the attributes of Allah self-subsisting substances, whereas the Messengers and their followers affirmed attributes for Allah, such as knowledge and power, while upholding the Oneness of Allah. The name "Allah" encompasses His sacred essence, characterized by attributes of perfection. As for calling the attributes of Allah "accidents" (أعراضًا), this is an innovated term not found in the Sacred Law. We neither affirm it nor deny it; rather, we seek clarification from the one who utters it regarding their intent. If the meaning is sound, it is accepted; otherwise, it is rejected, just as is the case with other ambiguous terms.
