Is it permissible for a man to say to his wife: "I worship you, my wife," with the intention of expressing love and a need for affection, and not with the intention of associating partners with Allah?

Religiously, it is forbidden for a man to say to his wife: "I worship you" or "I adore you," even if he intends to show affection, because such words are befitting only of Allah Almighty. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade saying "my male slave" and "my female slave," and commanded saying "my young man" and "my boy," because true servitude belongs to Allah alone, and it entails a veneration that is not befitting for a creature. The husband can use other words to express his love, while avoiding exaggeration in love and hatred.
