What is the ruling on undergoing cosmetic surgery to correct a nasal deformity resulting from the disease "rhinophyma," in order to restore the nose to its natural state as it was, knowing that the mother objects to this and the surgery is easy and has no complications?

Cosmetic procedures are of two types: The first type is for the purpose of enhancing beauty and appearance, which is forbidden because it involves altering the creation of Allah Almighty. The second type is for removing a defect or disfigurement resulting from an accident or illness, and this is permissible, as evidenced by the Hadith of Arfajah ibn As'ad.

The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta' and Ibn 'Uthaymeen have discussed the ruling on cosmetic surgeries such as those for the nose, breasts, and liposuction. If they are performed to remove a defect or due to necessity, they are permissible. However, if they are solely for increasing beauty, they are not permissible.

Based on the foregoing, if the large size of the nose results from an illness and causes you distress, there is no harm in undergoing a procedure to restore it to its original state.
