Does the use of an epidural injection to relieve labor pain cause a woman to miss out on the great reward of forgiveness that she receives due to the pain of labor and childbirth, and is its use considered a deliberate seeking of hardship in a religion of ease?

One must distinguish between the obligatory and the virtuous. A pain-relieving injection during childbirth is permissible if it is not harmful, falling under the category of enjoying Allah's blessings and easing one's burden. However, for those strong in their reliance on Allah and whose pain does not reach a harmful degree, abstaining from it and enduring the pain is better, following the example of the righteous predecessors. Patience in the face of worldly afflictions leads to Paradise, and treating illnesses through supplication and seeking refuge in Allah is more beneficial. As for those whose souls are weak and fear impatience, it is better for them to take the easier path and use pain relievers. No hadith has been reported indicating the forgiveness of a woman's sins due to the pains of childbirth.
