How sound are the agreed-upon hadiths, such as "If a man calls his wife to his bed and she refuses, the angels curse her until morning," and do they accord with the principles of mutual understanding, consultation, and justice in Islam?

Marriage is built upon understanding and love, and both spouses must establish their lives upon obedience to Allah. This includes their mutual consultation in their affairs. The wife's refusal to share her husband's bed without a legitimate Sharia-compliant excuse is an act of disobedience that incurs Allah's wrath and the curse of the angels. The request for the bed includes enjoying what is above the waist-wrapper if she is menstruating, and what she is capable of if she is ill. A Muslim must submit to the rulings of Allah and His Messenger, for discontentment with them is disbelief. The wife has rights, and the wife must obey her husband in the matter of the bed, as long as there is no legitimate Sharia-compliant impediment or a temporary illness.
