What is the legitimate and polite way to communicate with the suitor to get to know him before involving the family, knowing that the suitor is currently unemployed and there is a six-month period before the marriage?
Verifying the suitor's moral and religious eligibility is a fundamental pillar of a successful marriage, and attention should be paid to it, seeking Allah's help in choosing a person of religious commitment and good character. As for conversations between non- individuals on social media programs, they are forbidden because they are a gateway to fitna (temptation, discord) and evil. They can lead to infatuation and immorality, and the Shari'ah has blocked all doors leading to fitna. Sheikh Ibn Jibreen prohibited young men from corresponding with young women due to the great fitna and significant danger involved. Therefore, the questioner must fear Allah and refrain from conversing with this man. He should approach homes through their proper doors and communicate with her guardian to propose to her.
