Is it permissible to spend money on a widowed neighbor and her children who repeatedly curse religion, or is it correct to refrain from giving them money?

It is obligatory to strive to guide those who curse the religion, to advise them, and to clarify the gravity of their action. Cursing the religion is considered apostasy from Islam if the intent is to curse the Sacred Law (Shari'a), and it necessitates sincere repentance. Whoever dies while engaged in it, unrepentant, is among the people of Hellfire. A distinction is made between cursing the Shari'a and cursing a person's religious practice, based on intent and circumstantial evidence. As for giving charity to them, it is permissible, but people of righteousness and uprightness are more deserving of charity. There is no sin in refraining from giving them charity; indeed, refraining might be a means of deterring them and guiding them.
