What should one do who suffers from the emission of madhy and wady due to sexual arousal, especially during prayer and when approaching his wife, and what is the ruling on removing what comes out of him onto his clothes if he cannot see it?

"Madhiy" is a white fluid that exits upon arousal of desire. It necessitates washing the male organ and performing ablution (wudu'), based on the saying of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "He washes his male organ and performs ablution." The obligation of ablution from it is agreed upon, even if it occurs frequently, as long as its exit is due to desire. However, if its exit is due to incontinence (without a cause), then ablution is obligatory for every prayer, analogous to the woman with irregular bleeding, and this is the most preponderant opinion.

Regarding what soils clothes from it, scholars differed on its ruling. Some said it must be washed, while others said sprinkling with water (nadh) suffices. The preponderant view is a detailed one: for someone whose condition is normal, washing is obligatory. For someone whose condition is abnormal, sprinkling suffices, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "It suffices you to take a handful of water and sprinkle your garment with it where you see that it has soiled it." So, if madhiy soils your clothes, if you can wash what it has soiled, then do so to exit the difference of opinion. If that is not possible, then sprinkle them.

"Wadiy" is different from madhiy; it is a thick, yellowish fluid that exits after urination. Its ruling is the same as that of urine; it only necessitates what urine necessitates.
