It is obligatory to be careful by placing cotton or similar material on the site to prevent the impurity from spreading to the clothes. If something comes out, the cotton should be removed, the area purified, and ablution performed. However, if the leakage of drops reaches the extent of سلس (incontinence) such that one does not find enough time to perform purification and prayer, then their ruling is that of a person afflicted with سلس: they should take precautions and perform ablution for each prayer after the time for it has begun.
