What is the ruling on one who follows the view regarding cutting ties with relatives?

Discord and estrangement among kin are forbidden, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not envy one another, nor turn away from one another, nor cut off ties." And: "A cutter of ties will not enter Paradise." Those with kinship ties must be patient with the ill-treatment of their relatives and treat them kindly, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If you are as you have said, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and there will always be with you from Allah a supporter against them as long as you remain upon that." If a person fears harm from associating with their relatives, it is permissible for them to reduce their meetings without complete abandonment. However, if they cannot escape their harm except by abandonment, then there is no blame upon them.
