How can one reconcile the Prophetic Hadith: "Among the worst of people are those whom the Hour overtakes while they are alive, and those who take graves as places of worship," with the noble verse: "Everyone upon the earth will perish, But the Face of your Lord — full of majesty and honor — will remain," which implies the perishing of everyone on earth, both humans and jinn?

There is no contradiction between the verse and the hadith, for Allah Almighty has decreed death for everyone. When the Hour comes, Allah will send a pleasant wind that will take the souls of the believers, and then the Hour will be established upon the worst of creation. This confirms the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): «The Hour will not be established until 'Allah, Allah' is no longer said on earth.» And his saying: «Indeed, among the worst of people are those upon whom the Hour will come while they are alive.» This means that the Hour will come upon them, and no one will remain alive on earth except the worst of people, and they will all die before the blowing of the Trumpet, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown a second time, and behold, they will be standing, looking on.﴾ (Az-Zumar: 68).
