Does penetration with the use of a condom necessitate the حد of zina (unlawful sexual intercourse)?

Scholars have differed regarding intromission with a barrier. The Maliki school and some Hanafis hold that if the barrier is thick and prevents pleasure, it does not necessitate ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) nor does it incur the prescribed punishment (hadd), unlike a thin barrier. Conversely, the Shafi'i school and some Hanafis do not differentiate between a thick and a thin barrier, considering intromission itself sufficient.

As for the Hanbalis, they differed: some believe that ghusl is not obligatory with a thick barrier, while others believe it is always obligatory. Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that the most probable and cautious view is not to consider a thin barrier, treating it as if it were absent.

Based on this, adultery committed with a condom, where pleasure is present, is no different from adultery committed without one, due to the presence of complete pleasure and the violation of sacred prohibitions. Scriptural texts indicate that the criterion for the ruling is intromission, and one who uses a condom is considered to have performed intromission both customarily and linguistically.
