Is pursuing a Master's degree concurrently with memorizing the Quran and learning Tajweed appropriate, or is it more suitable to dedicate oneself to in-depth religious study?

A Muslim should have high aspirations, striving to elevate their status, improve their expertise, and attain the highest academic degrees in their field or otherwise, provided the intention is sincere and the work adheres to Sharia guidelines. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Be keen on what benefits you, seek Allah's help, and do not lose heart."

Religious sciences and gaining deep understanding in religion are among the best ways for a servant to draw closer to Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of religion," and "The best among you is he who learns the Qur'an and teaches it." You have done well in dedicating time to attending knowledge sessions, Qur'an recitation (tajwid) circles, and memorizing it. Goodness lies in what Allah has chosen for you after seeking His guidance (Istikhara).
