Is the aforementioned Hadith regarding Ibrahim, the son of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, authentic, and is it permissible to use it as evidence for the legitimacy of reciting the Quran and supplicating over food and distributing it with the intention of sending the reward to the deceased?

There is no basis for the aforementioned hadith (definition) that speaks of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, reciting the Qur’an over food to multiply it and attain blessings therein. None of the scholars have mentioned it with or without a chain of narration. What is established is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would bless food by supplicating. Since this act has not been proven in the Prophetic Sunnah (definition), it is not permissible to adopt it as an act of worship or a means of drawing closer to Allah, due to the Prophet's, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Whoever performs an action which is not in accordance with our matter (religion), will have it rejected."
