What is the ruling regarding a wife who does not purify herself from ritual impurity (janabah) but claims to her husband that she has done so?

Ghusl for janabah (major ritual impurity) is obligatory by the consensus of Muslims. Leaving even a single hair unwashed during ghusl for janabah warrants a severe warning. As for someone who completely neglects ghusl for janabah, one of two situations applies: either they abandon prayer, in which case they have committed a grave sin and may even be considered a disbeliever. Or they pray while in a state of janabah, in which case they have also committed a major sin, may be deemed a disbeliever by some scholars, and their prayers are invalid. Therefore, a woman who intentionally neglects ghusl for janabah must repent to Allah and make up for the prayers she missed. If she claims to have performed ghusl, she should be believed, as ghusl is an act of worship and she is entrusted with it. Her husband should advise her.
