How authentic is the supplication of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in Ta'if: "O Allah, to You I complain of my weakness, my lack of stratagem, and my humiliation before people..."? And if authentic, what is the meaning of the word "hawani" in it?

The aforementioned hadith is weak, but if it were authentic, there would be no issue with its meaning, nor would it be a discredit to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The dominance of disbelievers over prophets and righteous people, their disregard for them, and even their killing of them, is a divine custom that elevates their status, rather than diminishing it. This is supported by Warqa ibn Nawfal's statement to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "No one has ever come with something similar to what you have brought except that he was harmed." This supplication is a recommended plea to Allah, so that Allah may test His servant to hear his humble entreaties. The more a servant yearns for Allah's grace, the more his servitude to Him increases. Allah granted His Messenger a great victory after this supplication.
