How can one deal with a father's constant interference in choosing a wife, and the attachment to the idea of marrying a girl who combines beauty and religiosity? Is this considered good faith in Allah or naivety? And what is the way to deal with feelings of loneliness, practicing masturbation, the fear of dying in a state of disobedience, in addition to suicidal thoughts resulting from oppression?

It is recommended to seek refuge in Allah and supplicate to Him, and to be patient, which entails safeguarding one's desires from the unlawful and avoiding masturbation, and struggling against suicidal thoughts. If a person finds a girl of good religious character and morals and wishes to marry her, they should try to convince the father with the help of righteous people and by making supplications. The general rule is to obey him unless his command conflicts with a predominant benefit, or if his intention is to be obstinate. In such a case, his obedience may be disregarded, and effort should be made to earn his رضا (consent/satisfaction) later. There is no harm in seeking beauty alongside religiousness and good character to preserve oneself. It is preferable for a man to first inquire about a woman's beauty. If he is pleased with it, he should then ask about her religiousness. If it is commendable, he should marry her. If he does not find the desired beauty, he should not be rigid, but rather choose the most suitable option, one who possesses a degree of beauty alongside religiousness. Have good thoughts of Allah that one will attain what they hope for as a reward for advising others.
