How is an inheritance distributed between a grandson and a daughter?

The daughter takes half, as Allah Almighty says: "And if there is only one, she will have half." The remainder goes to the son of the son, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Give the prescribed shares to those who are entitled to them, and whatever remains is for the closest male relative." So, the inheritance is divided into two shares: one share for the daughter and one share for the son of the son. It is advisable to refer inheritance matters to the Sharia courts for investigation, as there might be other heirs, wills, or debts.
