What are the necessary manners for venerating the Holy Qur’an?

Within the covers of the Mus'haf is the speech of Allah the Almighty, and it must be honored and protected from anything that contradicts this; for His saying, Exalted is He: "That [is so]. And whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allah – it is best for him in the sight of his Lord." and "That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah – indeed, it is from the piety of hearts." The Ummah has unanimously agreed upon the obligation of honoring, exalting, and safeguarding the Qur'an.

Among the forms of honoring it are: - Placing it in an elevated position. - Ensuring its correct writing, beautifying its calligraphy, and perfecting its recitation. - Not leaving it open or placing anything on top of it, and placing it on the reciter's lap or on something elevated. - Erasing it with water, not with saliva. - Looking into it daily. - Not using it as a pillow, or leaning on it, or throwing it. - Not writing with it on the ground, for it is "in a Register well-protected; None touch it except the purified."
