What are the manners of reciting the Holy Quran?

Reciting the Quran is among the best acts of obedience and the greatest means of drawing near to Allah. It has etiquettes that a Muslim should observe to attain the great reward, and among the most important of these are: sincerity of intention for Allah, outer and inner purity, contemplation and humility, cleanliness and good appearance, facing the Qiblah if possible, using a miswak and cleaning the mouth, avoiding all unpleasant odors, and not interrupting the recitation except out of necessity.
