Is donating a small monthly sum to the Orphan Welfare Society considered Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) or orphan sponsorship?

The meaning of sponsoring an orphan is to take care of their affairs and interests, including providing for their expenses, clothing, discipline, and upbringing. Giving money to an orphanage is considered sponsorship if it meets the orphan's needs. If the money does not cover all of the orphan's needs, then it is considered participating in their sponsorship, and one will be rewarded proportionally. Sponsoring an orphan is not a perpetual charity (Sadaqa Jariyah); perpetual charity is when the principal of the money is endowed and its benefits are made available.
