Was the beard of the Prophet (peace be upon him) thick, flowing, and broad?

The Prophet's beard, peace and blessings be upon him, was thick. Many hadiths describe it as such, including the hadith of Al-Bara' bin 'Azib narrated by Al-Nasa'i, and the hadith of Yazid Al-Farisi narrated by Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi in Al-Shama'il. Al-Qadi 'Iyad mentioned in "Al-Shifa" that authentic narrations described the Prophet's beard, peace and blessings be upon him, as "a thick beard that filled his chest." Ibn Al-Jawzi explained "thick" as "dense," Ibn Hajar as "having density and roundness, not long," and Al-Manawi as one of the most perfect descriptions.
