To what extent are the detailed descriptions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) authentic, which begin with the Hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) and describe his color, face, forehead, eyebrows, eyes, nose, cheeks, mouth and teeth, saliva, beard, head, hair, neck, shoulders, Seal of Prophethood, forearms, palms, fingers, chest, stomach, shins, and feet?

The descriptions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned in the question are found in Hadith and Seerah books, and they are categorized into authentic (sahih) and weak (da'if). Among the authentic descriptions are: He was of medium stature, neither tall nor short; fair-skinned; his hair was not extremely curly; he was the most beautiful of people in face and character; broad-shouldered; smooth-cheeked; very dark-haired; naturally kohl-lined eyes; and long eyelashes. Among the weak descriptions is that which describes him as "ashnab" (having prominent teeth) and "mufallaj al-asnan" (having gaps between his front teeth). The weakness of these descriptions does not mean they are false, but rather it usually pertains to the science of Hadith methodology. The early Muslims (Salaf) were often lenient in transmitting biographical accounts and narratives that did not entail rulings concerning creed or lawful and unlawful matters, as Al-Iraqi stated: "Let the student know that biographies gather what is authentic and what has been denied."
