How long was the beard of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)?

The beard of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was thick, full, and round, indicating its moderate and average length, neither long nor thin. Descriptions of it being "great" and "huge" have been reported, but these narrations are weak. Al-Qadi Iyad also mentioned that it filled his chest, but without a chain of narration. Yazid al-Farisi described it as filling "from here to here" - meaning from the temples - and nearly filling his neck, which suggests it was not excessively long.
