The husband's forgiveness of his wife necessitates overlooking what has passed and not threatening her with divorce. He must treat her kindly. A husband's abandonment of his wife is forbidden unless there is a legitimate Sharia reason. It is advisable to strive for reconciliation and involve wise people. The husband should beware of oppressing his wife or assaulting her.
