Does an irrevocably consummated divorce (baynunah kubra) take effect upon a wife before cohabitation if her husband divorces her with three separate pronouncements, and is it a condition for her to return to him that she marries another man?

If a man divorces his wife who has not been consummated with, with three separate pronouncements of divorce, only one divorce counts, establishing a minor, irrevocable separation (baynunah sughra). He is permitted to remarry her without her having to marry another man. Ibn Qudamah said: "If she has not been consummated with, she becomes irrevocably separated with the first [divorce], and subsequent [pronouncements] do not bind her... so she is divorced by only one divorce."
