Is it permissible to put musk or perfume on the Mushaf or its pages to give them a pleasant smell?

There is no objection to perfuming the Mushaf; in fact, it is considered desirable by some jurists, such as the Hanbalis and Al-Suyuti. This is by analogy with perfuming theah and mosques, and because it entails veneration of the Mushaf.
