Praying upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is among the noblest acts of obedience and is particularly emphasized on Friday and its eve. There is no harm in creating an application that reminds one to pray upon him on Friday, and in specifying a number for it with the intention of encouragement, without believing in any special virtue for that number. There is no harm in the application displaying the total number of prayers made by people and their percentage, as this is a form of encouragement, provided that no specific person is identified by their number of prayers to avoid ostentation (riya'). Users should not rely on the application permanently to avoid negative effects such as conditioned reflex; instead, it is preferable for prayer to be a self-initiated act of remembrance.
