Allah Almighty specifically bestowed upon His Prophet David (peace be upon him) numerous blessings. He granted him kingship and prophethood, taught him what He willed, subjected the mountains and birds to glorify God with him, softened iron for him, and taught him the art of crafting armor. The mention of these blessings came after his killing of Goliath, which was a reward for his patience and struggle. Allah combined for David both kingship and prophethood after the killing of Goliath, something that had not been combined for anyone before him.
