What is the interpretation of the Noble Verse: "Our Lord, You have caused us to die twice and to live twice"?

Regarding the verse: (Our Lord, You made us die twice and gave us life twice), the exegetes have several interpretations:

1. The First Opinion (Most Apparent): The two deaths are: their state as sperms with no life, then their death after their life in this world. The two lives are: their first life in this world, then their life at resurrection, as in the verse: (and you were dead and He gave you life; then He will cause you to die and then will bring you to life again). This is the view of the majority of the early Muslims (Salaf).

2. The Second Opinion: He caused them to die in this world, then brought them back to life in their graves for questioning, then they died again, then He brought them back to life in the Hereafter.

3. The Third Opinion: He brought them forth from the loins of Adam, gave them life and took the covenant from them, then caused them to die, then brought them to life in this world, then caused them to die.

This confession issues from the people of Hell as a means for them to implore God to remove them from it and return them to this world so they may perform righteous deeds.
