If a woman sees blood after a miscarriage, there are two situations:
1. If human formation is discernible in the fetus: the blood is post-natal bleeding (). 2. If human formation is not discernible in the fetus: Scholars have differed. The Shafi'is and Malikis consider it nifas if specialists confirm the beginning of human formation or if the blood is clotted. As for the Hanafis and Hanbalis, they do not consider it nifas unless human formation is discernible.
