What is the ruling on one who took his wife back after an innovated divorce (talaq bid'i) or a divorce suspended on a condition, then later realized the correctness of Ibn Taymiyyah's opinion on the matter? Is he permitted to adopt it?

If the intention is to adopt Ibn Taymiyyah's opinion after having acted upon the opinion of the majority, in order to nullify a divorce and render it uncounted, then that is impermissible; because it leads to chaos and tampering with religion. However, if the intention is to act upon this opinion in another separate incident, because it is the more preponderant view, then there is no harm in that.
