Sacred knowledge is acquired from its trustworthy and pious proponents. The predecessors said: "Indeed, this knowledge is religion, so be careful from whom you take your religion." It was narrated that Ibn Sirin said: "They did not used to ask about the chain of narration (isnad). But when the fitna occurred, they said: 'Name your men for us.' Then, the people of the Sunnah would be considered, and their hadith would be taken, while the people of innovation would be considered, and their hadith would not be taken."
