The answer

It is permissible to include others in the reward of charity (sadaqah), based on the hadith narrated by Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sacrificed a ram and said: "O Allah, accept this from Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and from the Ummah of Muhammad." It is best for someone giving voluntary charity to intend it for all believing men and women, because the reward reaches them, and nothing is diminished from his own reward. And any act of worship performed by a person, if he dedicates its reward to the deceased, will benefit the deceased by Allah's permission.
